«I have always been equally in love with sex and art. One seems empty without the other. Whatever I work on (television, movies, sculptures, photography) I always try to infuse it with a sense of eroticism. I simply believe (at least for me, personally) that sexuality, body and relationships is the most fundamental human state of being. Below everything else in life, that’s what we’re about.
And I love exploring it.
I also feel that most images of nudity and sexuality today fall into one of three categories: Porn, Advertising and Art. They all have their raison d’être but they mostly fall short of depicting what sex actually feels like. My aim is to take pictures that are at once honest, romantic, beautiful, dreamlike and sexy. Pictures about simple things like touches, looks, the curve of a body, but seen through a lens that has both humanity and desire. I’m not that interested in showing an act, but rather of showing the people performing the act and what the feel and experience.
Pretentious? Perhaps. But I think that a bit of pretention can be good to counterbalance a lot of the cynicism that we meet every day».
